Sergio Bonelli Editore has announced an incredible amount of news at Lucca Comics & Games. Historical newspapers that are renewed, new books for a more mature audience under the Audace label, the beginning of crossovers with DC Comics between Zagor And Flash and the arrival at the cinema with Dampyr.
More details of the film were then released in 2019.
Later, probably also due to the pandemic, traces of the project were lost. Last fall something had been glimpsed at the exhibition Bonelli Storywithout official announcements.
Below are posters and synopsis, but it is likely that in the next few days, even through the official Facebook pageother news will arrive, such as a first teaser trailer.
DAMPYR is set during the Balkan war in the early 1990s and follows the story of Harlan. Haunted by horrific nightmares, Harlan makes ends meet by posing as a Dampyr (in Slavic mythology, a half-human, half-vampire) capable of freeing villages from what superstitious inhabitants naively deem terrible curses related to the vampire world. But when summoned by soldiers attacked by bloodthirsty creatures, Harlan discovers the truth: he really is a Dampyr. While trying to face a terrible “Master of the Night”, Harlan must learn to manage his powers and discover his origins. Accompanying him is a renegade vampire and a soldier seeking revenge.
Dampyr, co-produced by Eagle Pictures, Bonelli Entertainment and Brandon Box, will be released in theaters by Eagle Pictures.
