Paul Wesley & Ian Somerhalder Don’t Want ‘Vampire Diaries’ Spinoff

To advance. More than 13 years after meeting on The Vampire Diaries Position, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder are closer than ever – but they’re not ready to put their fangs back on.

“No…I’m a vampire,” Wesley, 40, exclusively said We Weekly when asked if he would like a RST fallout at a pre-US Open Kick Off event in New York hosted by Tennis Channel and Brother’s Bond Bourbon on Tuesday, August 23.

Somerhalder, 43, said they would be happy to get back behind the camera. “Well, we would go…like, if we were to realize,” the Louisiana native said.

Wesley did just that to Legacythe RST spin-off that ended after four seasons in June. Now, however, the Brother’s Bond Bourbon co-founders — who played brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore for eight seasons on The CW hit — are a little busy. He shares his daughter Bodhi, 4, with his wife Nikki Roseau, and the family recently moved to a California farm. Wesley joked that Somerhalder is usually too busy to respond to his texts – including a recent dinner invitation.

When they talk about staying in touch with their colleagues vampire diary alums, the actors said they regularly text fellow cast members, and Wesley even had a mini reunion recently.

“We don’t have a big group thread, but I’m still very close to Nina [Dobrev]I’m super close to Michael Malarkey – all! I mean I talk to all of them pretty regularly,” Wesley said. Whereas The Vampire Diaries ended in 2017 after eight seasons, the friendships made behind the scenes clearly outlived the series for a long time. Somerhalder said that’s why Brother’s Bond Bourbon is unique.

“I say this in all humility but there was never a mark, huh, that 13 years ago of [intellectual property] built into this store and an impenetrable bond so there’s never been a brand like this. It never existed,” he explained exclusively to We.

Wesley added, “And that’s something that, for us, we created from scratch. So unlike Vampire Diaries – which is our show, but we were hired for this show. It’s our baby. If Ian and I were to have a baby, this is our baby.

The pair launched their original liquor in 2021 and have just released a new twist on their lineup. “The 80 proof is the bourbon that is our flagship product, and it’s made so well and we’re proud of it,” Wesley said. “But we have this beautiful cask strength bourbon that just came out, which is an uncut, unfiltered, straight out of the barrel in its purest form. I was super proud of it. This is a bourbon that hits hard in a good way. It’s 115.8 proof and it’s awesome.

Looks like the Salvatore brothers would agree. Find out where to buy both variants on Brother’s Bond Bourbon website.
