A marriage without some sort of drama isn’t a real marriage, and the star-studded cast and characters of People We Hate in Marriage certainly deliver on that front. Based on the book of the same name by Grant Grinder, The People We Hate At The Wedding was released on the Prime Video streaming platform by Amazon Studios on November 19, 2022. Early reviews for the film were largely indifferent at best, pointing to the phenomenon broader comedy films becoming a dying form in Hollywood.
Alice, Paul and Eloise share the same mother, but Eloise grew up in very different circumstances from her two half-siblings. Now in their late twenties, the three siblings separately struggle with their love and professional lives, each of them oblivious to the problems of the other two. When Eloise invites Paul and Alice to her wedding in England, they reluctantly accept and the three siblings are reunited for the first time in years. However, when their personal lives fall apart as marriage approaches, it could either shatter the three siblings’ relationship forever, or finally mend the misunderstandings between them that have accumulated over the years.
Allison Janney as Donna

Donna met and married her first husband Henrique while traveling in Europe as a young woman, and the couple had Eloise. Despite their difficult relationship, Éloïse loves her two brothers and wants to reconnect with them when she gets married. Compared to Paul and Alice’s middle-class upbringing, Eloise grew up with the wealth and privileges her father bestowed on her, which is another source of Alice’s contempt for Eloise.
