The Amazon Prime Video series of September 2022: there is The Lord of the Rings!

We are about to enter a period of particular turmoil regarding fantasy productions: if on the one hand there is the HBO with House of The Dragonthe first spin off of game of Thrones – here our first impressions of The House of The Dragon, on the other hand the long wait for years de is finally about to end The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Powerproduced by Amazon, which immediately presents itself as one of the most ambitious works of the streaming service, just think of the budget of The Lord of the Rings for the first season (465 million) and that previously the most expensive series was The Crownwith $ 130 million per season.

For this September, therefore, Amazon Prime Video certainly plays to the upside, but it does not limit itself to proposing only The Rings of Power. In fact, several products are on the way to satisfy different audiences. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (September 2)

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will bring the heroic legends of the mythical Second Era of Middle-earth history to the screens for the first time. This epic drama takes place thousands of years before the events narrated in JRR Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and it will take viewers to a distant era where great powers were forged, kingdoms ascended to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung on the thinnest of threads, and one of the greatest villains to come out of Tolkien’s pen threatened to plunge the whole world in the darkness.

Starting from a moment of relative peace, the series follows a group of characters, some already known, some new, while yes prepare to face the feared return of evil in Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elven capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island of the kingdom of Númenor, to the most extreme places on the map, these kingdoms and characters will build a legacy that will survive far beyond their time. Prisma (from 21 September)

Prisma is the new Italian Original series by Ludovico Bessegato, written by the latter together with Alice Urciuolo and produced in Italy by Rosario Rinaldo’s Cross Productions for Amazon Studios. It’s a training show, in 8 episodes, that revolves around the complex relationship between the identity, aspirations, physical appearance and sexual orientations of a group of adolescents of Latina.

The protagonists of the story are two twins, Marco and Andrea (played by Mattia Carrano), apparently identical but profoundly different in the concerns they express. Their path of self-discovery it will be joyful and turbulent together and will equally involve their large group of friends, all looking for their place in an ever-changing world.

The Grand Tour Presents: A Scandi Flick (starting September 16)

In the first episode of the fifth season and their first post-pandemic journey, Jeremy, Richard and James head to the frozen expanses of the Scandinavian Arctic Circle.

At the wheel of their three favorite rally cars, the boys embark on a catastrophic adventure involving Cold War submarine bases: slopes on frozen lakes, accidents and the chaos of ski resorts as they drag their handcrafted homes from the coast of Norway to the Russian border.

A Private Deal (from September 16)

The new Original production stars Aura Garrido (Malnazidos, The Ministry of Time) and Jean Reno (The professional, Le Grand Bleu). The series tells the difficulties of a woman in pursuing her dream despite the stereotypes of the time. In the late 1940s, in Galicia, Marina Quiroga (Aura Garrido), a brave young woman from high society with a policewoman spirit, sets out to hunt down the serial killer who has been terrorizing the city for months.

He does so with the help of his faithful butler Hector, a discreet and helpful man, whose sensitivity and audacity always lead him to reach the turning point of the investigation. Together they will try to overcome all obstacles to reach the goal and neither the gender prejudices of the time, nor the resistance of the new police commissioner or the attempts of Marina’s mother to marry her, will stop them from seeking the truth. A Private Affair consists of eight episodes and sees Teresa Fernández-Valdés in the role of showrunner.

The Bold Type – the fourth season (starting September 1)
The Bold Type is a series that combines comedy and drama and which harks back to the experiences of Joanna Coles, former editor-in-chief of the US magazine Cosmopolitan. The stars of the show are the three friends Jane, Kat and Sutton, who work for a fashion and entertainment magazine and in the meantime find themselves facing life in a metropolis like New York.

Midnight, Texas – all two seasons (starting September 1)
The series is based on the homonymous trilogy of novels by Charlaine Harris, author already a source of inspiration for True Blood with his Sookie Stackhouse cycle. Also in this case it is a product with supernatural elements since the protagonist Manfred Bernardo is a medium capable of communicating with the dead. On the advice of his now deceased grandmother, Manfred moves to Midnight, a town inhabited by vampires, witches and angels, who seek refuge from the outside world and join forces against a common enemy.

Magnum PI (2018) – the second season (from 1 September)
This is the reboot of the famous crime series from the 1980s. The protagonist is Thomas Magnum, a veteran from the war in Afghanistan who decides to become a private investigator in Hawaii. A peculiarity of the show is that it shares the same narrative universe as Hawaii Five-0 And MacGyveralso developed by Peter M. Lenkov and in turn reboot.

Parks And Recreation – all seven seasons (from 1st September)
It is simply one of the best sitcoms around and it is no coincidence that it was created by Greg Daniels And Michael Schur, two names linked to The Office (especially Daniels, as he was at the forefront of the American adaptation). The series is set in the fictional Pawnee and follows the events of the department for the maintenance of public parks, led by the volcanic Leslie Knope. As with The Office, the first season struggles to mesh, but later the series takes flight and captures the hearts of viewers.

The Office (UK) – the first two seasons (from 1st September)
In general, when we talk about The Office, we immediately think of the American version with the protagonist Steve Carell, so this is an excellent opportunity to recover the two seasons that inspired it all. Designed by Ricky Gervais And Stephen Merchantthe series is shot in style mockumentary and shows the daily activities of the small branch of Wernham Hogg, a paper company. Law & Order – The two faces of justice – from the sixth to the ninth season (from September 1st)

The new season of the docuseries examines how the club approached the league. A & F, Ale E Franz Show – the first season (from 15 September)
Ale and Franz Show is a 2011 show in which the comic duo is the protagonist of several sketches that also see the participation of Miriam Leone, Alessandro Betti And Katia Follesa.

A professor – the first season (starting September 15)
Let’s move on to a Rai fiction with the protagonist Alessandro Gassmann in the role of Dante Balestra, the new philosophy professor of the Leonardo Da Vinci high school in Rome. Dante returned to the capital after eight years to be close to his son. One Tree Hill – all nine seasons (from 20 September)

Over the course of nine seasons, the series covers both high school and post-college years.

A doctor in the family – the first four seasons (from 22 September)
One of the longest-running Italian series. A family doctor debuted in fact in 1998 and have been on the air ever since 286 episodes. At the center of the events is the Martini family, whose initial nucleus sees the doctor Lele Martini, his father Libero and their children Maria, Ciccio and Annuccia.

Enrico Brignano Part One (from 27 September)
Enrico Brignano resumes contact with his audience after the period of forced detention it causes a pandemic, quickly retracing the difficulties encountered and the habits, more or less healthy, taken in a moment as absurd as it is exceptional. Me Against You – The Royal Family (from 30 September)
Luigi Calagna and Sofia Scalia are ready for a new adventure: live a short period in a royal palace with a noble family to learn its habits, culture and traditions. During their stay they will learn good manners thanks to Madame Cornelia, the surly and severe housekeeper, and Bruno, the nice and good-natured butler of the family and handyman of the house. In the end, the boys discover the real reason for their stay in the palace: the queen wanted them there to introduce her grandchildren to the simplicity and genuineness of the life of two normal people.
