After a long wait, two of the most anticipated prequel series of the year have finally arrived. On the one hand, HBO Max has bet ‘The house of the dragon’ (series derived from ‘Game of Thrones’) and, for its part, Amazon Prime Video has done the same with ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ .
Inspired by the universe created by JRR Tolkien, the series takes us back to Middle-earth but in the Second Age, long before what we saw in Peter Jackson’s films. In order not to get lost in new cast of characters that star in this adventurehere is a guide to the most relevant so far in chapters.

Morfydd Clark (‘Saint Maud’) plays one of the characters best known in advance by fans of ‘The Lord of the Rings’, played in the original trilogy of films by Cate Blanchett. This rejuvenated version of the elf Galadriel goes in search of Sauron and is, at the moment, the main protagonist of the series.
Another old acquaintance: Robert Aramayo (‘The King’s Man: the first mission’) takes over from Hugo Weaving and rejuvenates the character, more idealistic and open-minded. The half elf believes that understanding between the different races is possible. of Middle-earth and is at the service of the king of the elves: Gil-Galad.
Benjamin Walker (“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”) is the king of the elves, not very present in Tolkien’s original work, although it is mentioned on occasion. General of the army, as well as regent, he will clash with Galadriel for his suspicions of the resurgence of the Shadow. Thanks to him, Lindon is one of the most prosperous cities in Middle-earth.
Charlie Vickers (‘The Medici’) plays a most mysterious human, since his past is unknown. Survivor of a shipwreckcomes from the Southlands and her relationship with Galadriel will be relevant throughout the season, despite initial suspicions due to the secrets she carries.
Maxim Baldry (‘Years and years’) brings to life another of the important names in the world created by Tolkien and that we met in the prologue of the film trilogy (played by Harry Sinclair). He’s a dúnedain, a sub-race of men from which it differs by its longevity. A impetuous sailor with a thirst for adventure who must continue the legacy of his father: Elendil.
Lloyd Owen (‘Miss Potter’) puts himself in the shoes of the father of Isildur and Eärien. Another dúnedain from Númenor who also appears in Tolkien’s books. A great sailor and soldier that we will see evolve until become king of gondor. He is one of Aragorn’s ancestors.
Nazanin Boniadi (‘How I met your mother’) gets into the skin of this human who works as a healer and has been created specifically for the series. He comes from the Southlands and supplies medicine in a human settlement. She ends up generating some conflict due to her relationship with the elf Arondir and she is the mother of Theo (Tyroe Muhafidin), who owns a strange magical sword.
Ismael Cruz Córdoba (‘The Undoing’) is a wood elf who is dedicated to patrolling the Southlands to ensure that peace is maintained. Falls in love with Bronwyn, sparking a great controversy between elves and humans. He will join her on her journey to face Sauron.
Charles Edwards (‘The Crown’) is one of the key names in the mythology of ‘The Lord of the Rings’, whose appearance in the series will be the first in the cinematographic universe. Forger of the Great Rings and future creator of the One Ringis a blacksmith and a Nordor elf who descends from Fëanor.
Owain Arthur (‘The Magnificent Ivan’) is a crown dwarf prince from his father’s mine in Khazad-dûm. He is the husband of Disa (Sophia Nomvete) and has a friendly relationship with Elrond. He is a great leader and brings the comedic touch to the series.
Cynthia Addai-Robinson (‘Arrow’) faces the queen regent of Númenor and the only daughter of King Tar-Palantir. She is an ally of Galadriel and an enemy of Ar-Pharazôn (Trystan Gravelle), her adviser, whose political confrontation will be key in the fate of Númenor.
Daniel Wayman (‘Gentleman Jack’) is another of those enigmatic characters about whom, at the moment, very little is known. It is known that falls from the sky on a meteorite and that he is unable to speak or remember who he is. However, he maintains a good relationship with the hairy ones (ancestors of the hobbits).
