For the first time in ten years, DreamWorks Animation presents a new chapter from the fairy tales of Shrek in which the daring outlaw, the cat with the boots, will pay a high price for his notorious passion for danger and disregard for safety. Though he lost count along the way, the Puss burned eight of his nine lives. To get them back he will embark on a colossal enterprise.

In the original version, the Oscar nominee Antonio Banderas returns to give voice to the famous Puss accompanying him on an epic journey to find the legendary Star of Wishes in the Black Forest to reclaim the lost lives. Having only one life at his disposal, the Puss will be forced to ask for help from his former partner and nemesis: the charming Kitty “Velvet Paws” (Oscar nominee Salma Hayek).

In their enterprise, the Cat and Kitty will be helped – against all common sense – by a battered, talkative and joyful stray, named Perro (Harvey Guillen, “The Vampire Life – What We Do in the Shadows”). Together, our trio of heroes will need to stay one step ahead of Golden curls (the Oscar nominee Florence Pugh“Black Widow”) et al Three Bears Criminal Familycomposed by “Big” Jack Horner (Emmy winner John Mulaney“Big Mouth”), and the terrifying bounty hunter, the Big Bad Wolf (Wagner Moura“Narcos”).

“Puss in Boots 2: Death Wish” stars Oscar winner Olivia Colman, Ray Winstone (Black Widow), Samson Kayo (Sliced), Emmy nominee Anthony Mendez (Jane the Virgin) and Tony Award nominee Da’Vine Joy Randolph (Trolls: World Tour).

Puss in Boots 2: The Last Wish“, the long-awaited sequel to the 2011 blockbuster and Oscar-nominated film, is directed by Joel Crawford and produced by Mark Swiftthe same creative team behind the enormous success of “The Croods 2: A New Era” from DreamWorks Animation. The executive producer of the film is Chris Meledandrifounder and CEO of illumination.

The Puss in Boots character first appeared in 2004’s Oscar-nominated film Shrek 2, and audiences around the world immediately fell in love with him. The Puss also co-starred in two other Shrek sequels before his starring film, also appearing in several DreamWorks animated videos and TV series. The “Shrek” and “Puss in Boots” films have collectively grossed more than $3.5 billion worldwide.
