The Twilight Saga and its worldwide success
The supernatural romance story was written by the American author Stephenie Meyer and the first film entitled Twilight was released in 2008, this generated international success and Mexico was no exception, there were hundreds of teenage fans of this novel.
The world knew four books and five films, since the last volume was divided into two parts and although many fans of bone colorado pointed out that this decision was not necessary, the reality is that the theaters were packed at each premiere. Mexico was considered as part of the promotional tour of the protagonists and many were fortunate to see Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner face to face.
Today the saga continues to have many followers, so much so that it is broadcast regularly on open television, streaming platforms and cable services. But this November 16 marks 10 years since the premiere of the last film, therefore, on this very special date, the Cinépolis movie theaters decided to screen it again so that you don’t miss any details.
If for some reason you don’t know what we’re talking about or adult life doesn’t allow you to watch it regularly, then here’s a brief summary of the plots of each of the movies.
Twilight is the first big screen adaptation of the American author’s books, it was released in 2008 and for those who had not read the story, they met Bella Swan and the vampire Edward Cullen for the first time and saw their love grow with every minute that passed.
In the sequel, New Moon, released in 2009, Jacob Black (the wolf) took center stage and the three characters formed a love triangle that made fans take sides. What team were you from? The Volturi appeared in this movie, the vampire sect that wanted Bella’s death because they knew the secret of the Cullens.
In the year 2010, Eclipse came to the big screen, where the “new vampires” got out of control and the Cullens were forced to create an alliance with the werewolves and thus be able to protect Bella, in this film the love of Bella and Edward took center stage again and they both got engaged.
In 2011, Breaking Dawn Part 1 arrived, where the long-awaited wedding takes place and later Bella’s pregnancy. They all join forces, again, to keep a weakened protagonist alive.
Breaking Dawn Part 2 was released in 2012 and all fans were able to witness the outcome of this long love story where vampires and wolves constantly face each other. In case you have not had the opportunity to see the Saga, we will not tell you the end, so you can enjoy it directly in the movie theaters.
