In the beginning, the Dark Lord hides under another identity and intends to enter Lindon. Nevertheless, Gil-galad suspects him, expels him from the kingdom and informs all his subjects that they must reject him.

Sauron teaches Celebrimbor to forge rings of powerbut later he realizes his true intentions and gives two of the jewels intended for the elves to King Gil-galad. This in order to protect them from the hands of Sauron.

Nevertheless, we don’t really know how much of this will keep the series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.” As we have seen in the first two chapters, several aspects of the original work have been changed.

In an interview with “”, the actor who plays Gil-galad talked about the role he will have in “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”. According to the interpreter, the High King of the Noldor always sensed that evil was approaching.

Have a sort of elven spider-sense of the imminent rebirth of evil. He always sees it a second before. So when we meet him at the beginning of the first season, he is in a moment of peaceWalker explains.

Furthermore, he mentions that for his character, both peace and freedom require “constant vigilance”.

However, from what we have seen in the first two episodes, Gil-galad does not allow Galadriel to continue with her mission to find Sauronas if he were in a state of denial at the clues he found.

We know him as a warrior. We’ll get to see him as a warrior”, explained the actor. This could indicate that we could witness how he uses his famous spear. “But he is a politician in the sense that we would like to have, in the sense that he tries to bring out the best in all of us, so that when we need to come together, we can.”.

After forming the Last Alliance, the Kings of Elves and Men prepared their people for quite some time to face Sauron. Finally, they marched against him at the Battle of Dagoriad, where they were victorious.

Gil-galad was a very skilled warrior and his spear, called the Aeglos, was a much feared weapon that few could face.

Eventually, Sauron came forth from the confines of Mordor to duel with Gil-galad and Elendil.. It was not an easy fight for the Dark Lord, as wounds fatal enough to kill his physical body were inflicted. However, this was at the cost of also receiving strong thrusts and burns that ended with the lives of both.

Because never married or had childrenhis position passed to Elrond, though he never claimed the official title of High King of the Noldor.
