Supernatural and the never made spin-offs
A unique television phenomenon, that of Supernatural. Despite the extraordinary success and longevity that the loyalty of the fans has been able to ensure to the series, the producers and the network The CW have tried (and failed) on two occasions to launch a spin-off. The first experiment was in 2014 with Supernatural: Bloodlines, the title of an episode of the ninth season that would have served as a launch pad for the new series set in Chicago. In the cast of Bloodlines several emerging talents including Lucien Laviscount, Nathaniel Buzolic, Danielle Savre, Melissa Roxburgh and Sean Faris, but it was not enough to convince the network to commission the series.
The second attempt to make a spin-off is more recent. Season 13 includes the episode “Wayward Sisters(13:10) to explore the possibility of a female Supernatural series starring Kim Rhodes (Sheriff Jody Mills), Briana Buckmaster (Sheriff Donna Hanscum), Kathryn Newton (Claire) and Katherine Ramdeen (Alex). Again The CW declined to go any further with the project. During the same season, Supernatural scores a bizarre but appropriate cross-over: in the animated episode entitled “Scooby-natural” (13.16) the Winchester brothers meet Scooby-Doo and his gang.
