The return of BLACK PANTHER with Ryan Coogler’s WAKANDA FOREVER, in theaters on November 9, built on the passing of the baton for the superhero, after the untimely death of the protagonist Chadwick Boseman (King T’Challa) starts a new wave of superhero movies and series Marvel branded. In a story divided into phases (each with its own red threads), we are between the end of the fourth, with the multiverse at the center and a more introspective exploration of the characters and the fifth that will continue to travel on the border between good and evil, giving space even to the most restless good guys and baddies, from Ant-Man to the sorceress / witch Agatha Harkness, from The Marvels to Daredevil.
The special of about 40 minutes GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY – HOLIDAY SPECIAL (closing chapter of phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe) on Disney + from 25 November, which will also reveal elements of the third chapter of the saga (the last directed by James Gunn) , with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista and Vin Diesel, hitting theaters in May. Peyton Reed’s ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA is released on February 15, the third superhero film and title that officially kicks off Phase 5. Here Scott Lang / Ant-man (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) they find themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, having to face Kang the conqueror (Jonathan Majors). This spring, the crossover series SECRET INVASION debuts on Disney + with Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, in a cast that includes Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman and Cobie Smulders. At the center of the story is a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls that have infiltrated Earth for years. In the first months of the new year, the second season of WHAT IF will also debut…? animated series that explores parallel worlds of the multiverse. It should be heading towards summer for the ECHO series, starring Alaqua Cox as the relentless Maya Lopez, deaf leader of a gang determined to make Ronin, aka Clint Barton, pay for her actions. The return to the platform of Thor’s unpredictable younger brother, LOKI (Tom Hiddleston) will also be summer with the second season of the series in which he is the protagonist and where he is confronted with the infinite variations of him.
In July, Nia Costa’s THE MARVELS arrives in cinemas, a crossover with Captain Marvel and WandaVision which will feature the characters of Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) in a crossroads and swapping of superpowers. In the fall it will be the turn of the IRONHEART series for Disney +, set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Dominique Thorne returns as Riri Williams, a young and brilliant inventor determined to leave her mark on the world. In winter, AGATHA: COVEN OF CHAOS will arrive, a spinoff from Wandavision, dedicated to the powerful sorceress / witch Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), in the cast also Aubrey Plaza and Emma Caulfield Ford. In the live action series DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN, Charlie Cox reprises the role of the blind superhero. Anthony Mackie returns to the stars and stripes superhero in Julius Onah’s CAPTAIN AMERICA: NEW WORLD ORDER, coming in May. In July, Jake Schreier’s THUNDERBOLTS will debut in theaters with Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and her anti-hero team composed of Black Widow (Florence Pugh), the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), US Agent (Wyatt Russell ), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), the Red Guardian (David Harbor) and Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen). In September, the reboot of BLADE will be released, with the vampire hunter played by Oscar winner Mahershala Ali. In November Ryan Reynolds returns to as one of the most irreverent superheroes in the Marvel universe, in Shawn Levy’s DEADPOOL 3, with Hugh Jackman again Wolverine. Finally, we will have to wait until 2025 for the two superhero teams of FANTASTIC FOUR directed by Matt Shakman and AVENGERS: THE KANG DYNASTY by Destin Daniel Cretton.
