The Sims 4 has reached an absurd number of expansions. There are all types and for all tastes. So much so, that there is one that allows you to transform your character into a Vampire… with all its advantages and disadvantages. Here’s everything you need to know about the vampire life, including how to leave it.
Access the Vampire’s life in The Sims 4
Let’s start at the beginning of the principles: the first thing you must do to consider the life of the Vampire is to acquire the The Sims 4 Vampires Pack. When you have it, create a Sim with a vampire nature. Just hit “Create Vampire” in the character creation menu.
If you already have a Sim created, the process is a bit longer and… social. To turn a human into a vampire you must make friends with a vampire and increase the relationship as much as you can and more. Increase it until the option “ask to convert” in the dialogues.
If you select it, there is no turning back. Your Sim will begin to turn into a vampire… although it won’t be right away. When a few hours pass your needs will have changed and you will be able to use your new powers, as long as you keep your needs covered.
Lastly, the easiest way is to use the “traits.equip_trait trait_OccultVampire” cheat, but it takes the fun out of it a bit. I recommend one of the first two options.
Vampires in The Sims 4: powers, advantages and disadvantages
Being a Vampire is not free, you have needs as if you were a human… but different. Vampires have different levels of power. Depending on what you do, you will accumulate experience in several of these levels. And what are these powers? Read minds, transform into a bat, be immune to temperature… There are even 25 skills among which you can choose.
On the other hand, you have bloodlust (which is a problem when you live in a happy neighborhood community), you are vulnerable to sunlight and to Garlic. That means no barbecues in the sun or fresh gazpachito.
To appease the thirst for blood it is not necessary to drain your friendly neighbor, it is enough to drink plasma or plasma fruits. Also, you must replenish resistance of your vampire sleeping or doing Dark Meditation. Of course, being a vampire doesn’t take away common needs like socializing, hygiene, having fun…
How to stop being a Vampire so Blade doesn’t split you in two?
No, Blade doesn’t appear in The Sims 4… but there’s a good chance you just had enough of being a Vampire. In that case, there are two possible solutions: quick and elaborate. Quick fix: walk out the door on a hot summer day and abandon your vampire in thirsty need of him.
The elaborated solution requires creating a healing potion. To start, you must reach the Vampire Folklore Level 15 in order to access this potion. Go to the drink bar (Chemistry? What’s that?) and make something called: “Ultimate Cure for Vampirism“. You need garlic, acolyte and fruits, all these ingredients can be found in the pack.
Once ready, you can take it and you will return to being a human. An important note, children cannot take it. You will lose your vampire powers and needs. You can become a vampire and a human as many times as you want.
