Wine festival and botanical exhibitions: what to do on the weekend

Summer is coming to an end and it’s time to leave behind the sunsets overlooking the sea and diving into the pool. Each season brings with it many opportunities to enjoy our territory and its traditions. We therefore welcome September with the Franciacorta Festival, with starred menus and fine wines from the Brescia wineries, and the typical village festivals where you can appreciate all the culinary delights of the province.


The Brescia Castle back to being a meeting point for young people in the area with many cultural initiatives and great names of the current music scene who have chosen our fortress of medieval origin as a stage. Sara Mara Satteia young pop icon of Roman origins, to open the dance on the occasion of Parallel Festival in the evening of Friday 9 September. Guests will be expected starting at 6:30 pm for a university aperitif accompanied by Djsetto then leave room for the performances of the young talent from Brescia Peripezie and the female voice of the summer single “La dolce vita” (here the tickets).

The following evening sees instead go up on the stage of Epicenter Music Festivalalso within the walls of the Castle, the rapper of Genoese origins Bresh with his Oro Blu Tour. Fresh from the success of his latest album (entitled, in fact, “Blue Gold”) which has recently climbed the charts of best-selling albums, the rapper boasts collaborations with some of the most popular artists of the moment: from Rkomi to Francesca Michielin (here the tickets).

Sunday 11th September Epicenter transforms the Brescia fortress into a place dedicated to sociability and fun by transporting one of the most important aperitif formats in our province, the traditional “Anda Tropicale”, in a historical place. Even after the performance of the great guest of the evening Diego Naskamusic and fun will accompany us until late in the evening (here the tickets).

Among the many musical genres of the weekend in Brescia, jazz with the is certainly not missing ninth edition of Padernello Jazz. The first appointment to mark on the calendar is for Friday 9 September at Padernello Castle when, starting at 8.45pm, saxophone and flute players will tell the story of the Beatles through music with Paolo Favini, Moreno Falciani, Mattia Primon and Andres Villani.

On the territory

For lovers of bubbles, the month of September translates into Franciacorta Festival with numerous appointments to discover the places and the exceptional wines of this area. There Cascina Clarabella in Corte Franca hosts, Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 Septembermany initiatives: from “Goblets in the park” with free tastings by the glass, at guided visits to the cellarending with “The lake that makes bubbles. Fish & Franciacorta “: a lunch and a dinner that pay homage to the flavors of Lake Iseo prepared by chef Davide Taglietti and accompanied by some wine delicacies with an inimitable flavor.

Saturday 10th September the Village of Pieve di Tremosine hosts the Party in the Borgo. Starting at 6 pm many food stands will propose some of the culinary gems of the territory at the base of the Brescia tradition: dal spit with polenta and potatoes up to the unmistakable Capù di Tremosine. The streets and squares of the small village will be animated by good live music with local artists.

There Tenuta la Vigna di Capriano del Colle intends to greet the summer with an explosion of colors and taste. Friday 9 September at 8 pm guests can dine in a splendid garden surrounded by vineyards, with a appetizing and tantalizing menu by La Locanda del Vegnot di Padernello, paired with the excellent wines of the Tenuta la Vigna cellar on the occasion of Color Dinner. The weekend tastings have not ended yet. Saturday 10th September L’Lo Sparviere farm in Monticelli Brusati organizes Bubbles & Rock ‘n’ Roll: one vertical tasting of Franciacorta Docg Dosaggio Zero Riserva in the company of live music by Omar Pedrini Trio. Four of the best vintages selected by the Lo Sparviere winery add to the culinary mastery of the chef Stefano Cerveni which will present a selection of his creations in a Box Luxury Edition.

Art and culture

The Contemporary Space of Corsetto Sant’Agata di Brescia hosts Friday 9 and Saturday 10 September there exhibition The House of Vampires, curated by Edoardo Monti and Gloria Pasotti. From 15 to 19 visitors will have the opportunity to perform a journey along the Italian countryside with the splendid works of the American artist Ian Ferguson. The objective of the exhibition is simple: to invite you to visit and discover the homes of vampires with all their mysteries that echo in the Tuscan landscapes, from baroque architecture to medieval art.

Numerous exhibitors will gather on the occasion of The Garda Gardens to the delight of all botany enthusiasts. L’flower display in the open air it will develop along the streets of the historic center of Salò for the entire weekend. In addition, therefore, to the evocative landscape of the lake, it will be possible to admire specimens of cactaceae, liliaceae, evergreen and bulbous plants and it will be possible to buy plants and flowers of all kinds. But not only flowers: among the various stands on display there are also garden objects, organic and natural products and handicrafts.

The cultural weekend in Brescia cannot end without a guided tour. For the upcoming weekend the agenda proposes a visit to an unusual place: the District of Brescia Due per Brescia Due vs. Manhattan. Built during the economic boom, with its skyscrapers and buildings, the neighborhood has a lot to tell, without neglecting the parallels and American influences. For the guided tour the appointment is scheduled for Sunday 11 September at 5.30 pm and its duration is an hour and a half.
